What is anti-wrinkle injection/botox?
As we age, our skin naturally loses elasticity and moisture, becoming thinner and more fragile. This process, combined with the gradual breakdown of collagen and elastin, leads to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Facial expressions and repeated muscle movements also play a key role in wrinkle formation. When we smile, frown, or squint, the muscles beneath the skin contract, creating what are known as dynamic wrinkles — lines that appear only during movement.
Over time, these dynamic wrinkles can deepen and evolve into static wrinkles, which remain visible even when the face is at rest. Botox works by temporarily relaxing specific facial muscles, helping to smooth out existing lines and prevent new ones from forming.
